Emergency Medicine-Internal Medicine Residency

Welcome to the Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine Combined Residency program at ECU Health Medical Center/East Carolina University. Our residency program is starting one of only 11 EM/IM programs in the country and one out of five EM/IM/CC programs.

The East Carolina University Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine programs are based at ECU Health Medical Center, a busy tertiary hospital that provides care for the majority of eastern North Carolina. Our large catchment area provides a diverse patient population as well has a high level of acuity. ECU Health Medical Center/ECU has a long standing commitment to education, research, and providing care to the underserved population of eastern North Carolina. Our EM/IM combined residency program is proud to have a role in this commitment.

At ECU Health Medical Center/ECU, the residents are the driving force behind the EM/IM combined residency program. Residents are our best asset as their varied interests help drive change.
