Application Information

Our program participates in the National Residency Matching Program and only accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Applications Service (ERAS). Our deadline for this upcoming season is December 2, 2024.

Documents needed for a complete application file include:

  • ERAS Common Application Form
  • Medical School Performance Evaluation or Medical School Dean’s Letter
  • Medical school transcript
  • Three letters of reference.  One should be a SLOE (Standard Letter of Evaluation) from an EM residency program.
  • Personal statement
  • USMLE or COMLEX Transcripts
    • The USMLE Step I is required for allopathic candidates. Prior to starting your internship, you must have passed Step 1 and Step 2 CK. If you are an osteopathic candidate, we will accept COMLEX Levels 1 and 2.

Once the complete application is received, the residency directors will review it and interviews will be granted by invitation. Our program will participate in Preference Signaling and the Universal Interview Release Date on Wednesday, October 16th at 7pm EST.

All interviews will be conducted virtually.

Our program supports the APIC Best Practices for the 2024-2025 Residency Application Cycle from CORD EM and will be following them accordingly.

Interviews will occur on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays with one select Tuesday and will be self-scheduled in Thalamus after you receive your interview invite. Our interview season will run from October 28-December 20, 2024.

We are offering a second look event to allow applicants more opportunity to get to know our program and make the most informed decision about the location of your future residency training. We believe that the decision and ability to attend a second look event should not impact your position on our rank list. In support of this, we will submit our rank list ahead of any second look events. Attendance at our second look event will have no impact on your position on our rank list, except for egregious lapses in professionalism, as defined in the AAMC Core Entrustable Professional Activities for Entering Residency, which may negatively impact your rank list position at the discretion of the program director.

Planned optional Second Look Events are anticipated to be held on February 8, 2025 and February 15, 2025.  In accordance with CORD recommendations, our rank list meeting and projected rank list certification date is February 5, 2025 prior to the start of the second look events.  Details about these events will be sent at the conclusion of the interview season.
